Bob Evans -- Managing Director
Bob began his career in oceanography and in agriculture. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Rhode Island in Resource Chemistry, where he worked on the development of a process for the conversion of biomass to hydrocarbon fuels based on simulations of petroleum formation. As a Senior Scientist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory for 26 years, he worked in biomass thermochemical conversion and hydrogen technologies and systems, focusing on practical problems in the development of biomass conversion systems. In 2005, he co-founded MicroChem Technologies Inc., along with his partner Doris McCormick.
Tom McKinnon - Chief Scientist
Tom received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and taught chemical engineering for two decades. His research projects have received DOE, NSF, and NASA funding, and been tested in outer space on the Space Shuttle, leading to a number of patents. His areas of interest include pyrolysis, combustion and its products, and fuel production. He previously founded and sold a biofuels company, Novare Biofuels Inc.
David has 12 years of experience in the design and fabrication of thermal and mechanical systems. Upon receiving an MS in Chemical Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines studying thermochemistry of biomass, David worked in the aerospace cyrogenics field designing spaceflight systems. More recently, he has specialized in the design and construction of thermochemical reactor systems pertaining to combustion and biomass processing.
